How to Use Elements.
Elements is pretty easy to use. Just follow these steps:
1. Download and Unpack
The first thing you need to do is Download and unpack the zip file.
Rename the folder “elements_v2” to the name of your project. This will usually be the name of the site, but if you want to be cool you could use a codename.
3. Get to Work!
Start working on your site. Save all of your files into the suitable folder, for information on this see the Overview.
After you have coded some stuff, you will want to upload your project to your hosting. You have a few different ways of handling this. You could either upload the contents of the “elements_v2” folder to the root of your hosting. Or you could upload the entire folder and point your domain to that directory. All of the paths in this framework are done relative to the root. So besure the folders/files are either in the root directory, or the domain points to the correct directory.
Reset your Absolute Paths
If you use absolute paths for your links, your internal links will get external link icons. To fix this you need to reset your internal links. This can be done by opening up externalLinks.css file and look for the comment that is marked IMPORTANT follow what it says. If you have some external links that are images you can give them the class: “exempt” which will remove the external link icon.
